Position description
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join our practice. The ideal candidate would have an interest in another established area of expertise within radiology in addition to Nuclear Medicine. The applicant should be seeking an advanced state of the art clinical practice with opportunities for research and education. The position will include participation in our clinical and research Nuclear Medicine practice, including general nuclear medicine, radiotherapy including peptide-receptor radiotherapy, cardiac, oncologic and neurologic SPECT/CT, PET/CT and PET/MR practice. The Nuclear Medicine division consists of 22 dedicated clinical and research nuclear medicine physicians. The clinical practice conducts nearly 40,000 Nuclear Medicine exams per year with more than 13,000 PET/CT examinations performed. Two cyclotron/PET radiochemistry facilities are fully operational to increase clinical and research capacity. A PET/MRI has been installed and is operational for clinical and research activities with a growing volume of clinical PET/MR examinations that help support a rapidly growing therapy practice. The clinical practice is supported by a dedicated research PET/CT and small animal imaging facility.

Extensive educational opportunities exist particularly given Mayo Clinic’s global patient mix. There are nuclear medicine fellowship positions available each year and over 50 trainees in the residency program. Numerous research opportunities are present on multiple fronts given the close working relationships with clinical colleagues as well as strong physicist and scientist support. The Nuclear Medicine division and Radiology department benefit from strong administrative support.
License or certification
Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology and have advanced fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine and be ABR CAQ certified or CAQ-eligible or ABNM certified.
