Mayo Clinic Department of Family Medicine in Florida provides comprehensive medical evaluations and primary care services to people living in the Northeast Florida, area. We provide team approach to care for people of all ages, including Pediatrics. Our current exciting opportunities for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant are now available at our St. Augustine Clinic.

Position description
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs the following tasks in any authorized setting (clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, or patient's home).

-Obtaining patient history
-Performing physical examinations
-Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
-Formulating a diagnostic impression
-Developing and implementing a treatment plan
-Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
-Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs
-Making appropriate referrals
-Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication
-Assisting in surgery
-Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures
-Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.
Physician Assistant:
Must be a graduate of CAAHEP (Council on the Accreditations of Allied Health Education Programs) approved university program. NCCPA certification required. Must be licensed/certified or eligible to practice as PA in the State of Florida.

Nurse Practitioner:
Master's degree in Nursing required. (If licensed prior to 1998, Master's degree not required by the State of Florida.) Must have current Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license or eligible to obtain Florida license. Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified (FNP-BC) is required
Additional qualifications
Previous experience is preferred.
License or certification
Physician Assistant: NCCPA certification required. Must be licensed/certified or eligible to practice as PA in the State of Florida. BLS Certification required.

Nurse Practitioner: Current ARNP license to practice in the state of Florida required. Family Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified is required. BLS certification required.

Schedule details
Position will require regular evening weekday hours until 6pm and rotational Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. This position may include rotational Sundays in the future.
