The Specialty Pharmacy is a practice area focusing on many of the recent FDA medication approvals that treat chronic or rare diseases, require ongoing assessments for efficacy and active monitoring of adverse effects, and are generally very high cost. Pharmacists in the Specialty Pharmacy have additional involvement with care coordination, medication adherence, patient outcomes, and multidisciplinary collaboration with others on the health care team. Pharmacists may also perform distribution activities, provide patient consultation and clinical interventions as appropriate, serve as an education resource, and perform supervisory functions in absence of supervisor.
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or B.S. with 5 years of Pharmacist experience required.
Internal applicants are required to attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
Previous outpatient or community pharmacy experience preferred. Shows a commitment to excellence. Demonstrates leadership abilities. Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and organizational skills.
License or certification
Current Minnesota pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4,700.80, based on a full-time position.
Rotating day shifts. 24/7 on-call rotation.
