Therapists are responsible for the application of current knowledge, theory, evidence and sound clinical judgment in patient management. The therapist works closely with the patient, family and other members of an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective individualized patient care. Therapists also serve as advocates and promoters of health, wellness, and fitness to all stakeholders. They serve as educators and mentors for therapy students, peers and other medical professionals. The physical therapist assists with department and program planning.
This position is a pelvic health position that will focus on the evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic constipation caused by tension or incoordination of the pelvic floor muscles. This position requires a 2-year commitment. The therapist will focus on the retraining of the pelvic floor muscles using relaxation, biofeedback, and other exercises to develop muscle memory with practice. This position is scheduled Monday-Friday from 8-5 and additionally, the position requires working every 4th weekend in the hospital therapy practice.
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota as a Physical Therapist.
Demonstrated skills in the areas of organization, communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, decision making and problem solving.
Prefer board certification in clinical specialty area and/or advanced degree in health care field.
Also prefer active participation within professional organization.
License or certification
Current physical therapy licensure in the state of Minnesota.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,919.20 based on a full-time position.
Full Time with focus working in the outpatient setting Monday through Friday. If patient care demands require, there may be shifting to other therapy sites to accommodate for patient care demand. In addition, working every fourth weekend in the hospital therapy practice.
