Works cooperatively and under the direction of DLMP Data Governance Leadership Team (DGLT) in the planning, configuring, oversight, and execution of DLMP Data Governance initiatives. Establishes the problem definitions, linking to DLMP’s strategic plans.
Acts as lead in the planning and execution of overarching business analysis endeavors. Has broad understanding and vision for future with ability to influence and execute strategy. Demonstrated agility in working with rapidly developing project scope and plan. Synthesizes and drives solutions between operations, work units, suppliers and technical area. Provides direction, coaching, training, and mentorship for team members and colleagues, as appropriate, in alignment with the project, program, or organizational structure. Responsible for the development of the business analysis approach. Takes a data-driven approach to reach decisions that support and advance business objectives. Ensures the developed solutions satisfy the stated requirements and business objectives. Develops strategic partnerships with internal and external business entities to develop a solid knowledge base of the business, including the strategic plan, deliverables, processes, and financial impacts. Leads or participates in the research and consolidation of information to identify and recommend potential business and organizational relationships and partnerships. Applies a strong knowledge base of relevant systems/applications as it relates to workflow, process, and problem resolution and recommends improvements. Researches and analyzes operational procedures and methods and recommends changes for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness. Stays current on knowledge, practices and trends in the industry that directly affect the business. May require matrix supervision and evaluation of staff from other departments and divisions, including external contractual partnerships. May have direct and indirect reports, and be in a position to employ and guide the business analysis staff in a goal-orientated manner within projects.
Additional preferred experience:
Experience with laboratory business processes, personnel and data; preferred, but not required
Experience with data standards and data governance preferred
Roles and Responsibilities for this position include:
- Partner with DGLT to establish policies and procedures to ensure data controls, quality, security and compliance.
- For each Data Governance initiative, document the business definitions, business processes, requirements, data systems, data elements and metrics. Define communication, training plans to educate leaders and staff. Bridge between IT and lab business to analyze and mine data systems.
- Collect and analyze data to identify data quality issues, usage and standardization of DLMP data across multiple systems.
- Frame implementation projects to realize the benefits for each Data Governance initiative.
- Participate in establishing DLMP’s Data Governance policies and procedures, leveraging Mayo Clinic’s Data Governance processes and tools.
- Leverage tools, processes and techniques established by Mayo Clinic’s Data Governance committee.
Bachelor's and 9 years experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field OR Master degree and 7 years' experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field.

License or certification
CBAP Certified Business Analysis Professional, CCBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis, or PMI-PBA Professional in Business Analysis preferred.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3,735.20, based on a full-time position.
