The Addictions Services Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, has an opportunity for a Master’s Level Psychologist (MA, LP) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our team. The master’s level therapist in this position will function as a multidisciplinary team member and work closely with the clinical treatment team to optimize service delivery across the continuum of care. Primary responsibilities include conducting intake assessments with patients and their family members; developing treatment plans and goals; implementing and evaluating appropriate evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions; providing individual, family and group psychotherapy sessions and facilitating crisis intervention, as appropriate.
Master's degree in psychology or counseling from an accredited college or university. Training and experience with evidence based assessment and treatment with cognitive behavior therapy background preferred. Strong background and experience in individual and group therapy. Excellent communication and human relation skills. Public speaking skills to conduct effective lectures, workshops, and in-service training programs. Intermediate personal computer skills to allow proficient use of commercial software, word processing, statistical, and database programs. Leadership skills and abilities.
Two years of work experience, and training and experience implementing evidence-based psychosocial interventions with adults with substance use disorders preferred but not necessary, if willing to learn substance use disorder concepts.
Experience in a multi-disciplinary behavioral health clinic(s), residential treatment, tertiary-level mental health or medical setting is preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team. Experience supervising LPCC candidates and recognition as a Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health approved supervisor desired.
License or certification
Licensed Psychologist (LP) by the Minnesota Board of Psychology, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
