Position description
A postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available for those with a Biomedical Engineering Degree, Computer Science or Sports Psychology.

Duties Include:
  • Acquisition and analysis of data related to physical and cognitive performance under physiologic stress.
  • In collaboration with the mentor, the fellow will be involved in the study design and execution of human subjects research to quantify the link between performance and stress.
  • Conduct rigorous data analyses on the data. As such, experience with data analysis methods (using R, Python, and/or Matlab) is highly desirable.
  • Candidates without experience in machine learning and advanced data analysis techniques should demonstrate a willingness to learn these methods rapidly.
  • Write up study results and publish them in appropriate conferences and journals.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. Open to US citizens only.

  • Official transcripts directly from the school, or a letter from the registrar’s office stating that the requirements of your degree have been met. This needs to be on letterhead and come directly from the school.
Please also be prepared that you may be asked to provide three letters of recommendation to the hiring PI prior to an interview.
Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Sport Psychology, or Related Degree. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.

Critical thinking, curiosity, strong work ethic, communication skills, and the ability to work well with others both within and outside the group is required. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.
